How to install an eSIM on Android
A simple Android eSIM setup checklist for Samsung, Google Pixel, and other compatible devices.
Android settings differ by brand, so it can be unclear where to add the eSIM and which SIM should be used for mobile data.
Use the SIM manager or Network settings to add a downloaded SIM, scan the Skyalo QR code, then select the eSIM for mobile data when you are ready to connect.
- Connect the phone to Wi-Fi and make sure the battery is comfortably charged.
- Open Settings and look for Network and Internet, Connections, SIM manager, or Mobile network.
- Choose Add eSIM, Add mobile plan, Download a SIM, or Add plan depending on your Android brand.
- Scan the Skyalo QR code or enter the activation details manually if the camera flow fails.
- The device supports eSIM in your region and is not locked to a carrier.
- Your Android version includes eSIM or SIM manager settings.
- The QR code is not blurred, cropped, or already used.
- Menu names vary between Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi, and other Android phones, but the flow is always in SIM or mobile network settings.
- If the phone asks which SIM should use data, choose the travel eSIM only when you want the plan to start connecting.
