How to switch between eSIMs and SIM lines
Keep multiple eSIMs organized and choose the right line for data, calls, SMS, and travel.
You have more than one SIM or eSIM on the phone and are unsure which line is currently using mobile data.
Label every line clearly, choose the active data line before each trip segment, and keep calls or SMS on the number that should receive messages.
- Give each SIM line a clear label such as Home, Skyalo Europe, or Work.
- Open mobile data settings and choose the line that should provide internet.
- Open default voice and SMS settings and choose the line for calls and messages.
- Turn off lines you do not need if the menu becomes confusing.
- You travel through several countries and have more than one eSIM installed.
- You keep a home SIM for SMS and a travel eSIM for data.
- Your phone keeps asking which line should be used for data or calls.
- Leaving an expired eSIM selected for data.
- Deleting old eSIMs before checking whether they may still be needed.
- Letting the phone automatically switch to the home SIM for data.
