Before your Japan trip
Which networks are available with a Japan eSIM?
The current catalogue lists KDDI/au (5G), NTT docomo (5G), Rakuten Mobile (5G), and SoftBank (5G). Check your selected package before purchase: the combined country list does not mean that every tariff accesses every operator.
Are NRT and HND terminals at the same airport?
No. Narita and Haneda are separate airports. If the codes differ on your tickets, check ground transport and your airline's connection requirements before booking connecting flights.
Is free Wi-Fi available in Kyoto?
Kyoto's official tourism website lists public hotspots. Do not treat them as a connection at every point on a walk: save addresses and directions and arrange mobile data for access away from hotspots.
When should I install my eSIM for Japan?
Check the selected tariff’s activation trigger, as rules can differ. If validity starts on installation, installing early uses part of that period; if it starts on first connection to a supported destination network, you can prepare the profile beforehand.
Does the plan cover my next country in Asia?
Only if every country on your itinerary is explicitly included in the selected plan. Review the available regional alternatives and check each stop in the product’s coverage list before buying. A region name alone does not confirm coverage in a particular country.
