Less searching at the ticket gate, more time exploring

Save your airport route, accommodation address and tickets before flying. In London your phone may be both your map and your travel payment device, so plan for charging and avoid switching devices partway through a journey.

From London to Edinburgh
London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bath and Belfast offer different itinerary ideas. Include every travel day when selecting validity and review your package's networks for the places you need.

London alone does not identify your airport
Heathrow (LHR) and Gatwick (LGW) are separate airports. Heathrow advises allowing for immigration, baggage, check-in and delays as well as the journey between them.

Phone or bank card on the Tube? Stick to one

TfL says to use the same card or device to touch in and out. If you start with your phone, do not finish with a watch or physical card, even when they use the same bank account.

Changing airports? Save the whole journey

A connection from LHR to LGW involves a ground transfer. Review the route in advance and ask your airline about baggage and check-in requirements; road time alone is not the full connection time.

Before your UK trip

Which networks are available with a UK eSIM?

The current catalogue lists 3 (4G), EE (5G), and O2 (5G). Check your selected package before purchase: the combined country list does not mean that every tariff accesses every operator.

Can I enter the Tube with my phone and exit with my card?

TfL advises against this: use the same device or card for the correct fare calculation. The card in your phone and the physical card are not interchangeable for this purpose.

Are LHR and LGW different terminals?

No. They are Heathrow and Gatwick, two separate airports. Include the ground journey between them in your connection plan.

When should I install my eSIM for the UK?

Check the selected tariff’s activation trigger, as rules can differ. If validity starts on installation, installing early uses part of that period; if it starts on first connection to a supported destination network, you can prepare the profile beforehand.

Does the plan include travel to Ireland?

Only if every country on your itinerary is explicitly included in the selected plan. Review the available regional alternatives and check each stop in the product’s coverage list before buying. A region name alone does not confirm coverage in a particular country.
